This is my second one. I wore out the first one that I got from a clearance at JB White department store. 50% off still was $75.00. It was the best deal and light I ever owned and it lasted 12 years. This works just as good and price even better. Anyone wanting pole lighting would be stupid to get any other kind.

We bought this lamp nearly three years ago for my son's bedroom. Up until two weeks ago, we have never had a problem with it. The lamp took a few minutes to warm up to full strength, but gave a nice, warm glow to the room. We paid $40 for the lamp at the local Lowe's.
Two weeks ago, we moved across town. We didn't even consider the need to remove the lightbulb from the lamp in order to transport it. We failed to remember that the lightbulb for this lamp does not screw in, but simply plugs in. Inevitably, someone tipped the lamp to the side and out came the lightbulb onto the ground, shattered into pieces.
Finding a replacement lightbulb has been a major headache. Lowe's and other appliance stores do not sell them in the store. I went to a local specialty lightbulb store and took home one replacement light bulb. The light gave us an extreme florescent color -- too florescent for a small child's bedroom. It reminded me of a laboratory. We paid $31 for this replacement light bulb, by the way. I returned that lightbulb and asked the store to find me a lightbulb with a warmer color (3000K vs. 3500K that we had previously bought). They checked with several suppliers and could only find a lightbulb for $45. Mind you -- the light cost us $40.
I am still trying to find a suitable replacement lightbulb. . . .

This is a great lamp. Clean design, easy to assemble. Best feature is the on/off switch is actually a dimmer. Design allows for well light area in an artful glow.

Just like most reviewers, I've also wanted a replacement for a burnout halogen floor lamp. I went to a local lamp store to find out that the reason the halogen floor lamps were discontinued was because of many home fires they have caused over the years, which actually means they are banned! I felt desperate for a suitable replacement and found this wonderful lamp on Amazon. It is so similar in terms of illumination, you won't tell much difference. Just as some reviewers mentioned, it has a slight yellowish-tint of light, something that halogen lamp did not have. Also, the lamp's box claims that the light can burn for up to 10,000 hours!!! That is absolutely insane if you ask me and I will gladly sign for half that time.
Bottom Line: If you are looking for a tradition halogen lamp replacement, give this one a try. Please note that I only had this lamp for less than 2 weeks, so this is more of a first impression than anything. I never had a chance to contact their customer support, so I cannot comment on that.

I was looking for a lamp that I couldn't find in the stores anymore in my area. Thought I found here on Amazon, but when I got it was not the one pictured. There was something else odd about this before it was sent I was getting emails saying that the post office was not able to deliver the product. It showed up at my door a week later. There is one more thing, this item was on my wise list but it doesn't show up. I was lucky that I saved it under my favorites because at first I thought I ordered the wrong item. But that wasn't the case.
I have purchased other items from Amazon and never had a problem before. Will still use Amazon but will be more carefull of what I get.
