I got this fan to try to move some air in my stuffy room.

This fan does a great job of doing that, even on the 'low' setting.

I bounce the air flow off my ceiling and can am able to feel it on the other side of the room (which I thought was great).



I bought this model because the box said 25% quieter than comparable models, but it has failed to live up to its claim (unless the others are even nosier than this one).

Probably 50-60 db noise level (I was hoping for about 30 db).



Notes about what is included:

Black fan with cord (head rotates 90 deg)

Three speeds (High, medium, and low) - I usually only use low (it gets too loud)

Fan cover has six screws holding it on (sort of awkward to take off).



I would think it would last a while, but I've only had mine for two months.

Overall, its okay. It moves a lot of air, but is not at quiet as I had hoped.

bought it for less at T. but had to transport it myself. very light weight. three speeds but dial is in the back. only had it 2 days so can't speak about longetivity or reliability yet, but is very quiet to my ears(not necessarily yours) and is suitable for a small room.If you hate airconditioning, as I do,this is all there is. takes up little space but works. don't mess with any moving parts and read the safety manual. has a child protection setting,too. Just "point and shoot." 1 yr. guarantee- better than 90 days. use a credit card and double it to 2 yrs.

I am using it as a plant light and the plant is doing well. However, I had to put it on top of 2 decorative storage boxes to get the necessary height.



I have a beautiful fern which my husband has named Seymour (see Little Shop of Horrors). Yes, it is large and really did dominate the living room. A year ago I moved the plant to the corner of the room. It started losing a lot of leaves and didn't look healthy. So it got moved back to its honourary position in front of the window (southern exposure). I bought this lamp to see if I could get my fern to accept the corner position. It has been 1 month since I made the move. I put the lamp on a timer to turn on for 4 hours a day (morning). Since the move, the fern has lost very few leaves, it has good colour, and there is new growth.



This lamp appears to be giving the right amount and the right quality of light. It meets the purpose for which it was purchased.

Pros:

Easy on the eyes, good for reading books or text on monitors in a dark setting

Bendy neck is more useful then it first appears

Easy to assemble, even without instructions

Low wattage compared to amount of lumens produced (27W consumed, 150W incand. eqv.)



Cons:

Propietary lightbulbs, running from $20 to $30 each, impossible to find. Make sure to order an extra lightbulb from manufacturer when getting this lamp!

Extremely white light - not even a hint of color for such a 'colorful' light source. May remind some of old fluroscent lamps, and nauseate others (as an effect of being reminded by the associated setting, such as work, hospital, or etc. Has nothing to do with physical intolerance of the light).

Lamp may be too short for certain applications (5 feet with head bent, 6 feet with head straightened)



Other:

Solid investment as a dark office atmosphere working lamp.

Perhaps not such a great 'living room' lamp - it will suck the 'warmth' out of the room (despite being a 'sun' lamp)
